Singapore Botanical Gardens

I haven't been to the Singapore Botanical Gardens since last November. Since it had been so long I figured it'd be a fun way to spend the first Saturday morning in August. I was curious to see if there were any different flowers in bloom this time of year. I honestly can't recall if there was a difference between the flowers but did have some fun taking pictures.

As a side note...I have a photographer husband and have recently been in touch with a childhood friend who is also an artist/photographer. Both of them have been encouraging me to take my camera out and about with me to 'shoot' the sights of Singapore. I am getting better about keeping my camera with me and will hopefully be able to show you what I see as well as please them by 'shooting'. (BTW - if you click on the photo above it will get bigger so you can see it a bit better - I had a little fun with Photoshop.)

There are a good mix of tourists and locals who frequent the gardens. Today was very sunny but there was a nice breeze blowing through. I heard a lot of the tourists complaining about the heat and I had to chuckle because I was thanking mother nature for the pretty day and nice breeze. At one point in my wandering I was standing in the middle of an ad hoc soccer game, a frisbee game, and two different groups doing tai chi. It's nice to see such activity on a Saturday morning.

After I left the gardens I walked up to a grocery store in Tanglin Mall that has a huge selection of American products. I needed to pick up a few things that they have that I can't find at my neighborhood grocery stores. I found everything I needed and even had a treat of a cold A&W Cream Soda...yummy!
