Commercials

The past two days I haven't been feeling that great so have spent some time resting on the couch and watching TV. First of all, the TV here has much more variety than in Singapore. Most of the TV shows in Singapore are American shows that are a season or two behind the US. This makes perfect sense because so much of TV is driven in the US. The thing that is a bit odd to me is that there are no local TV channels in Singapore. As a result, everything is from satellite and there are no local commercials.

I am not a fan of commercials...in fact, we have had Tivo for many years and I enjoy being able to fast forward through them. Having not seen local commercials for awhile I am actually having some fun watching them. Commercials for fast food, mobile phones, local restaurants, cereal, automobiles, etc. Who knew I'd miss seeing all of these? Okay, maybe I don't miss them but am having fun watching them.
