Sunday stroll

Sunday mornings I usually go for a long walk at East Coast Park...someday I will be less determined about my walk and more into taking pictures so I can properly blog about it.  I was not able to today because the Standard Chartered Marathon was going on and the bulk of the race was in East Coast Park.  I was going to avoid the entire marathon area of the city but it was sunny and beautifully breezy this morning so I wanted to enjoy the sunshine...especially since we are in the midst of the rainy season and this past week has been very rainy.

So, I decided I'd walk along the river near my house knowing that at some point I would run into the marathon craziness.  I brought my camera along just in case there were any good chances for pictures of the marathon.  By the time I got near the marathon route I was pretty sick of all of the people and was really just wanting to enjoy my Sunday morning walk in peace.  I also realized that taking pictures of a bunch of people running was pretty boring when you don't know any of them.

On my way home I finally realized that the conditions were right to get a picture of a Hindu temple that is near my house.  I walk or ride by this place a couple of times a week.  I have always wanted to get a picture of it but I either didn't have my camera or I didn't like the way the sky looked.  Not today...

In addition to getting a picture of the temple the park right in front of it had a bunch of roosters and hens milling about.  Again, I've walked by this place a million times and have never noticed them before.  The best part was there was a momma hen with her little chicks...
