Tuk tuk

So, I've been missing in action from my blog for the past few days.  We were in Siem Riep, Cambodia from Sunday through Wednesday.  We were busy wandering around ancient temples and lazing by the pool...I tell you...it was a rough couple of days.

One of the primary forms of transport in Siem Riep...and across many Asian cities is via tuk tuk (pronounced took took).  There are slight variations in each country but they are essentially 2-4 people transport vehicles.  Depending on the city they can be a fun way to get around or a very dirty and noisy way.

As you can see, it is basically a carriage that is pulled by either a motorcycle or a moped.

In Siem Riep they are a fun and inexpensive way to get around.  It only cost about $1-$2 to get from our hotel to the downtown area.  If we wanted to hire a driver for the day it would have only cost us about $15 per day.

To give you an idea of what it is like to be in one...
If you are ever in Asia and have the chance to travel by tuk tuk it is definitely a must.  If for no other reason than saying tuk tuk is fun!

Much more on our trip in the coming days...
