Packing...

to go home...to the other home...

I've spent some time the past couple of days organizing things for my return trip to Singapore.  It is odd to pack to go to a second home.  I don't really have too many clothes to pack since the temperatures have been so different.  I mostly have a bunch of things that I either can't get in Singapore or that are too expensive in Singapore:

  • Peanut butter ($6 for 2 large jars from BJs vs $6 for the smallest jar from the grocery store in Singers) - and it is very important to have an abundance of peanut butter in the house at all times.
  • Mattress pad - the bed sizes in Asia are different than here...who knew?
  • New shoes...they were super cheap and super cute!
  • Granola bars - okay, it is $10 for a box of 6 in Singapore...I bit the bullet once but can't do it again...ever again.
  • Lots of great art and pictures for my very bare and very white walls - thanks to Tina and her friends!!!
  • Hair products...sounds odd but not easy to find...at least not the kind I like...
  • A few things for some Singapore people - even they know how much cheaper things are in the US!
I'm not sure what other goodies I have in there but have one bag mostly packed.  I'll throw the rest together tomorrow.  The main things I absolutely have to remember are computers/power cords, phones/power cords, iPod, Kindle, and airplane entertainment.

Since most of the things will be staying in Singers it'll be an easy time packing to come back in a couple of weeks...at least I hope.
